Belgium had legitimate grounds to push for more favorable terms in the treaty that would seal off World War I. In the treaty, they were only entitled for the restorations of land Germany had acquired when it attacked them. However, the felt they deserved more since they had suffered more casualties than anyone in the Allied Alliance during the war.
