Khamis (2019) investigated PTSD and emotional dysregulation prevalence among children and adolescents in Lebanon and Jordan Syrian refugee camps. The study's findings revealed that 45.6% of the refugees had a prevalence of emotion dysregulation. The refugees who have experienced extreme war had a higher prevalence of emotional dysregulation. Their coping mechanisms for PTSD differed depending on the family ties of the children and adolescents, their educational settings, and the length of the period spent in posttraumatic war-torn environments.
The study studies are examined through the scales of measurement that were used to assess the prevalence of children’s PTSD and emotional dysregulation. The measurement scales the researchers used included the trauma exposure scale, PTSD assessment Scale, Emotion Regulation Scale, Kid cope scale, Family-ties scale, and environmental researchers used the family ties scale that asked good questions about the quality of the family ties such as, “we are a close and supportive family”, and observed if there is good emotional expression.
