Personal and Professional Accountability
I am still not proficient in the area personal accountability. A personal accountability assessment revealed several shortfalls that I need to develop on a personal level. Though I have a personal accountability plan, following it through remains a formidable challenge. Notwithstanding these shortcomings, I am competent in the area of personal growth and development. I have a personal growth and development plan that helps me monitor my growth progress.
Regarding professional accountability, I am proficient and moving towards acquiring expert knowledge. I am in possession of the requisite foundational practice skills and have known its application in nursing practice. Though I am competent in as far as foundational nursing skills are concerned, I still need to further develop in this area. Particularly, I need to learn how to apply systems thinking knowledge in nursing practice. Since I am at the advanced learner level in the use of systems thinking the approach in decision making. Besides, I possess advanced beginner knowledge in the area of communication and project management. Generally, I rate above average in the area of personal and professional accountability, and I am still seeking growth and development opportunities in this area.
Career planning
I have a career development plan which serves as my career development roadmap. The plan outlines my short term and long career development objectives, timelines, deliverables and indicators for success. Though I have a career development budget estimate, I am uncertain as to its adequacy since I only have advanced beginner knowledge in financial matters. Though I have a career development plan, I still face constraints in following through. I have got access to career planning and development material at my workplace which I plan to use to enhance my career planning skills.
Personal journey disciplines
I am still an advanced beginner in this area and need further development to understand how I can apply an action to learning. My knowledge of the application of active learning techniques in problem-solving is inadequate, and hence I need to develop this area further. Although I have advanced beginner action learning skills, I still need to learn how to apply them in different problem-solving situations effectively.
Reflective practice reference behaviors/tenets
My experience and skills in reflective practice still fall below average, even though I am moving toward gaining competency. Currently, I can engage in leadership reflective practice since I possess the requisite skills and knowledge for active reflective practice.
