Health Story Paper: Students explore a personal health topic that is meaningful and relevant, write a two-three page double spaced paper (500-600 words) and create a collage, drawing, painting, digital art work, etc. related to their health topic.
a) Health Focus: Decide on a health related topic you want to explore – an injury, illness, trauma, disease, addiction, etc. Feel free to write about something you have been dealing with or are concerned about, a current health issue, something from the past or an aspect of your health you are curious about. Reflect upon the timeline. If you write about an event that happened to someone else, write about how their experience affected you. When did this start? Did it end? Is it ongoing? Is it reoccurring?
b) Interview: Interview a family member or close friend who can provide an additional perspective to your story. The person you choose must be someone you feel comfortable talking about the factors that contributed to being sick/hurt/afflicted and how you got better. This person is someone you feel “safe” with.

 The health story relates to sleeping habits as there is inadequate sleep and irregular sleep habits, and besides this, I need to exercise to reduce weight and live a healthier lifestyle. Long-term sleep problems can affect your health, and adequate sleep is essential for mental, emotional, and physical health.
Six Dimensions of Wellness
The Six Dimensions of Wellness are helpful to evaluate health and wellness, and they address the emotional, physical, social, environmental, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions.
Emotional
Lack of sleep is a harmful behavior that may affect moods and emotional wellness and cause stress. There is a higher risk of stress when there is inadequate sleep as the response to sleeping problems causes issues. However, getting more sleep and following a regular sleeping pattern will improve emotional coping, but sleep deprivation affects emotional regulation
Physical
Proper dieting and regular exercises influence physical wellness, but physical health worsens without adequate sleep. Sleeping well is closely related to good health and quality of life, and I made changes to improve my sleeping habits by limiting screen time, choosing a regular sleeping schedule, and reducing caffeinated beverages before sleeping.
