Dostarlimab
Dostarlimab is a wonder medication that has been verified to be highly effective in managing cancer. However, it may be less effective for certain individuals due to genetic mutations, especially the G-T mutation. The surface cancer cells usually increase the expression of PD-L1 before binding to PD-1 on T cells (Park et al., 2022). The outcome is a reduced and compromised immune system that is accompanied by the inability to identify and assume an attack on the cancerous cells. However, when dostarlimab is taken, it binds to the PD-1 receptors found on the T cells, therefore inhibiting the interaction between PD-L1 and PD-L2 (Park et al., 2022).
