Scholarly writing, characterized by extensive research and utilization of the already existing information, is a powerful contributor to intellectual enlightenment at a timeless perspective. It is through comprehensively refined scholarly writing that the various scholars in all sectors of humanity contribute their knowledge to the immediate and succeeding human generations. From a personal experience, I have discovered the need to combine scholarly writing with research, such that the two work hand in hand. This is because scholarly writing largely targets intellectual readers whose grasp and exposure to facts are inclusive (Giltrow, 2002). As a result, I have realized that scholarly writing is demanding in terms of time, resources, intellectual thought and the standard requirements.
