Leadership is a critical role for the success of the healthcare system. An important characteristic of good leadership is the aptitude to explore individual and team beliefs to attain the perceived success. Good leadership entails constant fine-tuning to gain deeper understanding of the demands and the decision skills involved in health activities or problems (Marquis, 2012). It is no longer plausible for the health care system to avoid the changing health care system. Therefore, recognition of the needed changes for the interdisciplinary leadership in the system should be applauded and implemented.
Interprofessional leadership in the healthcare field offers a platform for exchange of experiences that would enhance its management of the field. It would improve collaborative practices especially in the application of the various professional management styles to the healthcare system. This would increase the level of trust between the leader and the participants in the healthcare system (Marquis, 2012). This would provide the conducive environment for the development of the sector for the benefit of the society. These results will only be achieved if the healthcare industry accepts beneficiary reforms from other disciplines.
