For nearly 50 years, hundreds to thousands of American citizens are suffering from mental diseases. The type of facilities provided to them in medical centers is not reliable. In 1963, the Community Mental Health Act shifted funding from institutions to community-based behavioral health services. However, the situation has remained the same, and it looks like people with mental diseases will continue facing behavioral and other problems until or unless authorities take notice of the issue and show an interest in resolving it.
