In my Pediatric clinical rotation, I have learned a lot of behavioral issues on children and respective management plans on musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal conditions and injuries have been a health problem not only in children but also for adults. As part of growing a healthy musculoskeletal system of a child is important. This will comprise of the muscles, ligaments bones, and joints.
When a child is growing, the bone constantly gets reshaped to perform its core functions (Brendsen & Olsen, 2015). The ligaments for kids are stronger tolerating a lot of mechanical forces allowing the skeleton to grow. A growing child needs to have a diet rich in calcium and food with high levels of vitamin C and D. Absence of these nutrients will lead to weak bones, bowed legs, rickets, and many other skeletal disorders.
