Organ systems within the Human Body and their Function
The major role of the digestive system is to break down and metabolize nutrients which are the body's source of survival and energy. It is consists of the gastric space, food pipe, the intestines, liver, pancreas, the rectum, anus, and glands (Tortora & Derrickson, 2017). The urinary system has the function of filtering blood and removing waste products from cellular metabolism. Its components are the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys.
The endocrine system has the role of regulating body systems' functions using hormones. Those are produced by glands that are the components of that system. The muscular system uses the organic energy for movement by contracting and helping various tasks. Its major components are cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle tendons (Tortora & Derrickson, 2017).
