Success in any plan that a person has must be accompanied by a number of elements. Failure to have these elements in position will often lead to pitfalls. Consequently, the plan will not be realized as anticipated. In order to avoid the barriers and obstacles to success, first and foremost, one must plan. A plan is step by step framework that outlines the manner in which one will achieve the set objectives. A plan is crucial as it helps one remain within the path and parameters of what they want to do. One of the pitfalls or obstacles to success is failure to plan (Tucker, 2013). When there is no plan to place, it is very easy to veer off the main cause. One is likely to engage in activities that are less likely to contribute to the end objectives. Having a plan in place helps one remain within course and be disciplined. In addition the plan acts a guideline thereby enabling one know exactly what it is that they are doing.
Another obstacle that prevents one from succeeding is the failure or inability to prioritize. When planning, a person needs to know which activity should begin and which should come after. Inability to prioritize, they are likely to lose out on opportunities that could come in handy towards the success of their plan.
