APA Guidelines for your Week 4, 5, and 8 Papers Aug 1-Sep 7, 2024 APA 7 Guidelines to be Used with Each Written Assignment Please acknowledge this was thoroughly read by replying to this post. Thank you. ***Graduate papers do not use a header Please refer back to this page when doing research papers. Many students do not do well on the research papers because they either have not read this post or don't come back to it when writing a research paper. For this reason, if you do not acknowledge that you have read these instructions, you will lose half of your participation points for Week 4. Thank you. I have also added an upload that I find very helpful when formatting references. Style • Use active voice rather than passive voice. • Page numbers must be included on each page per APA 7 protocol • Be specific and concise. • Avoid poetic or figurative language; scientific writing is the most appropriate for APA. • Use past or present perfect tense (e.g., researchers have shown) for a literature review and description, and past tense when referring to results and experiments previously conducted. • All paragraphs’ titles are to be bolded and centered. • APA-7 is to be completed in 12-point Times New Roman font. References • Center the word “References” (in bold font but without quotation marks) on the top line of a new page following your conclusion. • Use hanging indents (the first line of each entry should be left-justified, with lines two indented ½” from the left margin). • Alphabetize all entries by the first word in each (usually the first author’s last name for each). • Note that you must include a comma after the author’s name that precedes the ampersand in the reference list, even when there are only two authors. This does not apply to citations in the body of the paper. • There should only be one space after periods in the reference list entries, just as in the body of the paper. • If a work has more than 20 authors, list the first 19 followed by an ampersand (&) followed by the last author's name. Do not include an ampersand (&) in references with 20 or more authors. • The title of the article must be capitalized, and the title of the journal or book must be italicized. • Omit the publisher's city and state. Margins Your graduate paper must be typed and double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11"), with 1" margins on all sides. The similarity index (Lopes Write) should be 15% or less. If you know, you have not borrowed writing from any source and have done a good job paraphrasing and your similarity rate is much higher than 15%, it can be caused by the APA 7 checklist and the references. However, if this is the case, then it is okay to have a similarity rate greater than 15%. I can see exactly where the similarity is coming from and if it is from the APA 7 checklist or the references, I will simply ignore it. Be aware, please, that if your similarity score is less than 15% but Lopes Write identifies plagiarism, it will still be subject to be turned in to the Academic Dishonesty Department. No more than 5% quoted text in your Week 4 paper and no more than 15% quoted text on your Week 5 and Week 8 papers. Make sure your word count, minus the title page and references, meets the word requirement for the assignment.

The Role and Importance of Nursing Theory in Patient Care Student’s Name Institution of Affiliation Course Date The Role and Importance of Nursing Theory in Patient Care Nursing theory is essential in the field of nursing since it is a framework that supports the practice, education, and research in nursing. These theories are conceptual models that depict, account for, and propose patient care consequences as the framework for deciding on and implementing actions. This paper aims to discuss the need for applying nursing theory in patient care delivery, the importance of current theory application in the practice, the usage of the nursing theory in planning patient care and reflects on the particular theory that best matches the best belief about the nature of nursing. Purpose of Applying Nursing Theory to Patient Care Nursing theory is very important in explaining patients' requirements for care and the decision-making process, consequently enhancing patients' care compared to situations where the theory is missing. The first importance of applying the nursing theory is to provide a theoretical guide for a nurse in an attempt to provide patient envelope care according to the specific needs of each patient (Allande-Cussó et al., 2022). This has the potential of enabling the nurse to predict patient feedback to care, choose the correct plan of action and assess the efficacy of the care administered. According to Zhang (2024), the theories that Nightingale and Henderson's Need Theory developed are the foundational theories that helped the transition and enabled the evaluation of how factors may be influenced and how nurses can change other structures to have an impact on the health of their patients. Significance of Nursing Theory in Current Practice Nursing theory remains relevant today as it supports the application of evidence-based practice. This is an advantage since it provides an understanding of co...
