I agree that nursing has undergone significant changes in the last decades. As a nursing student, I am prepared to adapt to the changes to remain relevant in the industry. During my practice, I learned that modern hospitals have special departments which deal with specific health issues such as accidents, infections, and disorders. These departments handle such emergencies as soon as the patient reaches the hospital to avoid loss of life. Also, as nurses, we must keep pushing toward achieving quality patient services. The skills and knowledge I gained while learning the new practices will help me grow my career further since I believe that the future of nursing is focused on innovative approaches.
Interprofessional Collaboration
Performing healthcare tasks is often complex, and as a nurse, I agree because every single problem at work needs different people's input. I have learned that the collective efforts of different health caregivers help solve a problem. In an emergency, it is crucial to collaborate as a team so that the patient’s life is saved in the shortest time possible. I also learned that interprofessional collaboration works better when the team trusts each other irrespective of the nature of work in the healthcare facility.
Health care delivery and clinical systems
Health care facilities can indeed work towards ensuring that they provide and deliver health care services to the patients in the best way possible. Also, the clinical systems try their best to work towards achieving the goals set by the facility to ensure that patients are well taken care of. The healthcare industry's biggest challenge is balancing quality healthcare delivery and cost-effectiveness (Portney, 2020). With the knowledge and skills I have acquired in the health sector, I believe the way forward to deal with this challenge is to make sure that the health care facility embraces the use of technology and the goals and practices of both the health facility and the clinical system match. I believe with such an approach in the health industry, I will be able to hone my skills concerning my professional experiences in the future.
Ethical considerations in health care
I agree with the opinion that ethical consideration in the health care sector is a vital issue that, as a nurse, I need to handle with care. My preceptor has been educating me on the importance of ethical values and situations that need these considerations, mainly since I deal with different cultures and diversity daily. As a nurse, I am supposed to ensure that I establish, maintain, and improve the ethical environment, especially when handling patients and also how I relate with my fellow collogues. Ethical consideration in health care improves the quality of service and the relationship between the patients and health care workers. Also, it is crucial as a nurse to be a critical thinker because it helps make decisions that will help save patient lives. Communication skills are another skill that nurses should possess to talk to patients and know their illnesses.
