Introduction
The IOM future within the Nursing sector offers several recommendations aimed at initiating positive changes in the delivery approaches between nurses and there patients. In my own capacity, I view myself as fitting within the IOM future of nursing recommendation considering the fact that I will have completed my bachelor’s degree in nursing before the target period of 2020. This will add into the nursing industry another technical workforce and potential(Ironside, 2015). This will therefore provide me with the knowledge required to carry out functions and nursing duties to the best of my capacity and in an efficient manner. Additionally, I will also have the capacity to influence many workers in the pursuit of further education as currently I have two of my workmates who are enrolling into a nursing program to further their education.
Increasing the Proportion of Nurses with a Baccalaureate Degree
In achieving this goal, there is a need for the academic nursing frontiers to encourage the element of training and equipping of nurses with the aim of increasing the population of nurses with a Baccalaureate Degree to 80% by 2020. This can be achieved through partnerships with other medical institutions in ensuring that funding’s and scholarships are available, a factor that will expand the scope of study for the nurses who deem it fit to increase their education (Johnstone, 2012). Nurses should also be allowed to continue with their work while undergoing training since this will improve their skills and knowledge in the area.
