1. Identify the purpose of governance boards.
Governance boards develop policies that support stakeholders' interests, promote values, support decision-making, and implement an organization's goals. Each organization has core values, vision, and mission, and the boards support them to advance the strategic choices. The board members ensure that the decisions are sufficient and appropriate where there is an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and good performance (Chambers et al., 2017). The governing board ensures there is the maintenance of quality services. They also adopt measures to attract and retain well-trained and competent staff members to provide high-quality service.
Approve corporate strategy and annual implementation
The corporate strategy is closely linked with the business plan where the governance board is involved in ensuring there is a useful implementation of the corporate strategy. The board is also essential in strategic improvement, which helps maintain and improve competitiveness.
