How Christians Perceive the World
The most interesting aspect of the topic readings is how Christians perceive the world and how their worldview affects their experiences with nature. Additionally, I find it interesting how the idea of scientism seems to create problems for the Christian worldview despite science having a place in the Christian religion. According to Shlemon (2018), scientism is responsible for the shift in what people believe they can know. As a result, truth and knowledge, or the way to know reality, is through the five senses. In answering the question of what is the ultimate reality, Bogue and Hogan (2018) express that right and wrong, good and bad, comprise the primary source of knowledge regarding reality. This contrasting position means that scientism hardly acknowledges that knowledge could come from other sources.
My view of the analysis of disease and healing in the readings is that reality can be experienced through the senses and the human conscience that dictates right and wrong, good and bad. As a result, I would ...
