Efficient exchanges, accuracy, and security of health data are greatly influenced by healthcare information standards, though there is a need to evaluate their conformity with the changing methods of data collection. Modern technologies used to collect health information are Bluetooth devices, mHealth applications, and smartwatches, among others. Such devices are designed to monitor and collect basic information on blood pressure, activity levels, and heart rate, among other parameters (Li et al., 2021). Although the data is collected in real-time, it should be noted that these devices have multiple shortcomings, including the inability to handle unique data elements, privacy and security concerns, and issues with standardization.
