Group Therapy Session
Post your Group Experience Discussion The type of therapy group does not matter, this will be a discussion about a group therapy session. If students have not been able to attend any sessions with a therapist, students may attend virtual sessions, such as intherooms.com for the assignment. If students attended therapy sessions in another semester with a therapist, they may choose those experiences for this discussion. The students are to focus on the following module 3 objectives:

Description of the group
Group's Atmosphere
I participated in a therapy group for people suffering from stress and anxiety. As the meetings went on, the group's environment changed. As individuals began to discuss their encounters and vulnerabilities, there was first some hesitation and nervousness among them. Nevertheless, a sense of trust and togetherness grew as the group came together, fostering a relaxed and open environment. At the start of the assessment, the group was in the assembling and advancing stages. However, by the conclusion, it had moved into the norming moment, whereby members seemed more bonded and accepted.
Topic of Greatest Interest
Coping mechanisms for anxiety and stress management was the subject that sparked the most curiosity among the group members. The participants were enthusiastic to teach and be taught by one another. The group talks and activities revolved around this subject (Fayard & Mayer, 2023).
Group's Activity Level/Members' Behaviors/Conflicts
Members of the group initially participated cautiously, but as trust increased, they emerged as more involved and aggressive. I noticed therapeutic elements like universality, where participants discovered they were not solely in their struggles, and altruism, where they shared managing mechanisms to assist others. There were seldom confrontations, but occasionally arguments about which coping mechanisms worked best. Nevertheless, the group leader helped to mediate a conclusion as these disputes were handled properly.
Common Issues Facing Patients
Excessive stress from job, family, and individual life was a common problem among those participating in the group therapy session. Numerous participants had trouble recognizing and controlling their anxiety triggers. Furthermore, some individuals revealed their experiences with social anxiety and found it challenging to sustain connections because of their anxiety-related habits (Hogan et al., 2023).
