INTRODUCTION
Despite your best efforts, your cannabis business may receive concerns and complaints from community members. It is important that you have the policies and procedures in place to address them. Consider the following scenario:
Neighbors of the Greenville Cannabis Dispensary say parking headaches and traffic congestion have made life miserable during the first few weeks of adult-use sales. In addition, there have been complaints of cannabis odor from people smoking outside, disruptive crowds, and a container of cannabis was found on the ground.
INSTRUCTIONS
In this discussion, you are going to role-play. Take the position of a couple of different residents who live in the area and write a complaint to the Greenville Cannabis Dispensary: an elderly person, a parent of tweens and teens, and an FBI agent. Share your complaint with your peers. Be sure to include which role you are playing.
Next, respond to one of each of the resident's complaints (for example, one peer as an elderly person, another peer's complaint as a parent of tweens and teens, and another peer's complaint as an FBI agent) as if you were the owner of the Greenville Cannabis Dispensary. How will you resolve the community member’s specific complaint? What considerations must you include in order to bring the matter to a positive and amicable resolution?
