Graduate-Level Nurse's Participation on the Implementation Team
Assume you are a nurse manager on a unit where a new nursing documentation system is to be implemented. You want to ensure that the system will be usable and acceptable for the nurses impacted. You realize a nurse leader must be on the implementation team.
Review the steps of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and reflect on the scenario presented.
Consider the benefits and challenges associated with involving a nurse leader on an implementation team for health information technology.
The Assignment: (2-3 pages not including the title and reference page)
In preparation of filling this role, develop a 2- to 3-page role description for a graduate-level nurse to guide his/her participation on the implementation team. The role description should be based on the SDLC stages and tasks and should clearly define how this individual will participate in and impact each of the following steps:

Nurse Leader
In health information technology (HIT) implementation, there is a need to have a nurse leader to help in the healthcare delivery and explain the deep understanding regarding clinical workflows. Nurses also help to learn about the patient care processes that will aid in the implementation process. Therefore, using the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach will help the nurse leader establish a HIT that aligns effectively with clinical requirements and will be quickly adopted by available healthcare professionals (Strudwick et al., 2019). The nurse leader's role will be to bridge the gap between clinical practice and healthcare technology implementation. In this case, the nurse leader participates in each SDLC stage to identify the resource requirements and develop strategies for effectively implementing the plan.
Planning
The first stage is the planning stage, which involves collaboration with healthcare stakeholders to understand organizational strategic objectives and discuss the clinical goals and HIT needs. The nurse's role in this stage is also to identify and conduct documentation of different clinical requirements in the system (Backonja et al., 2022). These documented processes aid in decision-making, ensuring regulatory compliance and satisfactory service delivery for patient care. Another role of the nurse in this strategy is to act as a liaison connecting the clinical staff members and
