Atropine injection decreases mucus secretions including saliva. It is used during surgery and anesthesia to keep the patient’s heart beat normal. It also utilized in reversing or blocking the adverse effects associated with certain medicines.
There are various side effects associated with the usage of Atropine sulfate including tachycardia, photophobia, blurred vision, and dryness of the mouth. Additionally, elderly patients may experience difficulty in micturition and constipation. It is also associated with hypersensitivity reactions mainly skin rashes which could progress to exfoliation.
