Nursing Education
The IOM report suggested a target of at least 80% of the nurse population should have a BSN degree by 2020. Thew (2019) in her article mentioned research done by Chenjuan Ma, an NYU professor. According to the research, it is not possible this target to be achieved in the designated time. However it has been noted that about 50% of the employed nurses are now BSN nurses. Hawaii has been noted to have about 70-72% BSN nurses. Furthermore, New York passed a law that all registered nurses should acquire BSN degrees within ten year time.
Nursing Leadership
The Dashboard of the Future of Nursing highlights domestic advancement in developing suggestions for the Future of Nursing Report of the National Academy published in 2010.
