Professional nursing accountability refers to a situation where nurses safeguard the quality and maintain competency in patient care by taking responsibilities for their nursing omissions, judgments, and actions that pertain to learning and for better standards and outcomes of the profession (Davis, 2017). Besides, professional nursing accountability requires nurses to demonstrate and uphold integrity throughout their nursing practices, actions, and attitudes by displaying professional contacts to their interdisciplinary team and their patients (Rubio-Navarro et al., 2019). Moreover, nurses are expected to professionally account for expanding their clinical skills and executing evidence-based practices in their day-to-day routines.
