Quantitative research is a type of nursing research that involves gathering and evaluating numerical data using methods such as surveys, experiments, and statistical analysis (Nieswiadomy and Bailey, 2018). This research method is frequently used to test hypotheses and assess variables methodically and objectively. In contrast, qualitative research encompasses gathering and interpreting non-numerical data through techniques like observations, interviews, and document analysis. This form of research is frequently utilized to understand the meaning and experiences of individuals and communities in a more contextual and interpretive way.
The qualitative research method appeals to me more because it allows for a more comprehensive understanding of individuals' and groups' experiences and viewpoints. This type of research is more engaging than the quantitative type and gives researchers more flexibility in the research process.
