Which of the culture and caring theories most resonates with you for your practice as an NP?
Dr. Madeleine Leininger's Culture Care Theory (CCT) resonates with my nursing practitioner (NP) practice for various reasons. First, the theory can be applied to bridge the cultural gap in current healthcare settings. Nurses are caring for increasingly diverse populations, and thus the need to deliver culturally-sensitive care. The model postulates that care providers cannot separate social structure factors, world views, and cultural issues from health, illness, wellness, and care when dealing with patients from diverse cultures as these variables intersect (McFarland & Wehbe-Alamah, 2019). CCT has several propositions, including culturally congruent care, ethnohistory, worldview, culture care diversity, environmental context, and cultural and social structure dimensions (McFarland & Wehbe-Alamah, 2019). Leininger supported the need to explore a patient's care values, beliefs, expressions, and patterns that characterize diverse cultures and integrate them into nursing care practices to ensure the delivery of culturally-sensitive care. All propositions offer valuable insights into my practice as an NP.
How does the theory integrate the nursing paradigm? 
The CCT integrates the nursing paradigm by offering crucial insights for nurses to derive care rationales with respect to a patient's cultural care beliefs, lifeways, and values to provide a precise and accurate basis for making culturally-sensitive decisions and care recommendations. The theory helps the nurses learn transcultural practices that emphasize the cultural care practices, values, and beliefs of groups and individuals from a specific culture. In addition, CCT supports congruent nursing practice to deliver meaningful patient-centered care tailored to fit the client's cultural norms and values through cultural restructuring and accommodation. Also, the theory creates awareness about the culture of care ethics that guides nurses when making decisions.
