Consent is a cornerstone of law and ethics wherever it is necessary to get a patient's permission before administering treatment (Rodrigues et al., 2017). Consent depends on safeguarding a person's autonomy, dignity, and rights and interests. Consent is influenced by a number of factors, including the law and morality:
Competence: The individual providing permission must be of sound mind and able to fully comprehend the operation or intervention to which they are agreeing.
