The species of bacteria Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Streptococcus, and Saccharomyces that are most usually found in probiotics are Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Saccharomyces, respectively (Anonymous, n.d). Bifidobacterium and Saccharomyces are yeasts. Prebiotics are indigestible fibers derived from foods that encourage the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract. Prebiotics can be found in several fruits and vegetables. They provide a source of sustenance for probiotics, which are live bacteria that are good for the body. Prebiotics are abundant in fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains,
