Nutritional intervention
The prevalence of obesity among children has been identified to be within alarming rates. In response to this, there is a need to introduce nutritional intervention strategies to facilitate the reduction of the obesity rates. One such intervention includes the reduction in calories intake. It is evident from research that a primary cause of obesity is the consumption of high level of calorie contents in foods. Thus, to avoid such incidences, it is recommended that children should be provided with alternative low calorie foods including fruits, vegetables. Consequently, intake of foods such as fast foods and sugary drinks should also be reduced.
Furthermore, an increase in physical activity of children in the region should be included in the nutritional intervention strategies. Most children today spend a lot of timed in house in less physical or demanding activities like playing video games. This thus, increases their risk of developing obesity as most of the fat within their bodies is stored instead of being burned for use by the body for energy needs. Enc...
