It encompasses aspects like motivating others to behave in a certain desired manner, leaders ought to exhibit strength and confidence while interacting with groups of people (communicating) and during moments of problem solving (Bally, 2007). Effective leadership also requires the use of rational and intellectual power; it is important at this moment to recognize that nursing as a profession involves attributes of leadership. My ethical behavior involving practice and support for international standards of the profession stands competent. I bear high regard for work ethics and my scope for the same is unbounded.
Even though I appraise myself lowly regarding professional associations, I am dedicated to achieve life-long learning for purposes of establishing professionalism and so leadership. Being at the novice level in terms of certification does not affect my awareness in the healthcare sector nor my learning experiences per se. I plan to gain such associations and certifications even though I look beyond myself in consideration of leadership as a group thing.
Career Planning
As far as career planning and development is concerned, my rating with the ‘Nurse Manager Skill Inventory' indicated an expert understanding of the Nursing profession. I have kept a keen eye on realizing the expectations and responsibility that come with the role of being a nurse. I cannot deny however that such understanding is yet to be experienced at my current level. Even so, I remain focused ...
