Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a globally prevalent nose disorder affecting children and adults. Wang et al. (2018) state that the disease presents diverse clinical characteristics, including anterior and posterior rhinorrhea, congestion of the nasals, and itchiness. Schuler and Montejo (2019) indicate that persistent sneezing is one of most individuals’ classic symptoms of AR. Patients also display blocked or runny nose, cough, and eye-related issues. These symptoms can be spontaneous and may vary from one individual to another.
The diagnostic criteria for AR often rely on examination and history. However, once the physician confirms the presence of the condition, there is a need to conduct other laboratory procedures, including specific IgE determination, for confirmation purposes (Schuler & Montejo, 2019).
