Practices of Culturally Sensitive Care & Ensuring the Integrity of Human Dignity
Providing culturally safe and sensitive care is one of the most critical elements that I believe are essential for delivering patient-centred care. I think it is a type of care that meets all the patients' cultural and social values before delivering care and services. Human integrity and dignity are core elements of the underlying practice to which patients should be subjected. I believe patients should be subjected to a high level of care within healthcare facilities. My nursing practices have been embedded with a high level of culturally sensitive practice (De Voogd et al., 2020). My professional care is one of the core elements evident in the nursing practice.
I exhibit the ability to deliver appropriate responsive care to the attitudes of the patients. I have encountered many situations that have subjected me to embracing many skills and practices that create a conducive environment for patients. The skills I adopt have enabled me to have a distinctive approach to responding to patients' feelings in a distinctive manner (Chua et al., 2022). I have adopted a practice culture that enables the patient to follow and understand all the instructions and guidelines within the healthcare facility.
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses
I exhibit a wide range of strengths that have enabled me to deliver high quality culturally sensitive care and maintain patients' integrity within the healthcare facility. Some of the critical elements that have enabled me to include; awareness of the cultural traditions of the patients, a slight language barrier, and active listening (Rasheed et al., 2019). These are the major strengths I exhibit within the environment to deliver high-quality health services. Being a multi-lingual individual, there are no limitations to the aspect of the language barrier within the healthcare facility.
