After numerous complaints from the patients, the managers in the health center sent a memo to the medical personnel telling them that they should aim to be open with patients and their families. The memo also alluded to the need for enhanced communication by being friendly and listening to feedback and addressing the issues that emerge in a spirit of teamwork. Also, the memo asks people to contribute to creating a working environment, where credibility and accountability are evident to minimize the errors encountered in the provision of health care.
Effective communication is critical in offering satisfactory medical care. The situation above shows that there were perpetual barriers that led to different opinions between the health workers. Consequently, varied perception leads to challenges in the flow of communication, limiting the spirit of teamwork (Streeter, 2010).
