Approach to Address Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Hello, please respond to the question below. Initial paper is upload. Thank you.
Good strategies for the management of this patient including the use of parent management therapy (PMT). PMT includes quality time with the child and differential reinforcement strategies to give proper direction to the child's motivation and places emphasis on parenting skills (Ghosh et al., 2016). Non-pharmacological approaches for the management of oppositional defiant disorder continue to be the first-line recommendation prior to the initiation of pharmacotherapy. Hypothetically, if this patient had aggression that remained uncontrolled after the integration of therapy and parent management therapy, what medication has the strongest evidence in the control of aggression in ODD?

(2022) indicate that it is a reliable option when other primary techniques fail to control the patient and improve their outcome. The author demonstrates that risperidone is a type of atypical antipsychotic drug with a convincing capability to induce desirable results among ODD children. Adesanya et al. (2022) add that it has received significant evidence supporting its efficacy beyond any other medication.
