Unit Plan Title: Looking Into the Four Seasons Using Stories and Arts

Unit Theme
The concept throughout this unit is storytelling and creative and artistic interpretation of the four seasons. Children will read stories, discuss them, and make artwork related to the year's seasons. Moreover, technology and arts will be incorporated into the unit and hence help the students to exercise expression in their learning as they relate the written word to art-making in the pretext of mastering essential skills in ELA.
Summary of Each Lesson
Lesson 1: Spring—Bloom with Me
Topic: Recounting the folklore with emphasis on the spring as part of the four seasons.
Learning Objective: Students will, in detail, recount significant events of a story with illustrations in relation to the structure of the story, as well as the events of the particular story in the context of spring.
Learning Activities: Initially, the students will read the “Tiny Seed” by Eric Carle (2015).
Next, to represent the story's events, generate a collage, which must be called a "spring scene" with flowers and raindrops. Third, an interactive digital story app will be used to retell the sequence of the events in the story.
Technology Incorporated: Use of a storytelling app where students illustrate and record the events of the story being taught.
Lesson 2: Summer – Fun in the Sun
Topic: Identifying and outlining the characters, the environment, and significant occurrences within a described summer story.
Learning Objective: Students can narrate and explain the summer story's characters, settings, and significant occurrences through visuals via painting and writing.
Learning Activities: The students shall read the book "Day at the Beach" by Booth (2018). After reading, the students shall draw a landscape that can be painted in summer and the location where the story can be set. Next, the teacher shall remind children about today's summer weather and help them compare it to the story and download a weather app where they can monitor real-time temperatures to make this contest enjoyable.

Lesson 3: Changes During Fall and Winter—Comparing Pairs
Topic: The students shall write a short essay that analyzes two fairly similar stories, one about fall and the other about winter.
Learning Objective: Students will make two Christmas stories, one set in the Fall and the other in the Winter seasons. The students will also get acquainted with the problems of their heroes and outline the similarities and differences.
