Research Instruments Relating to My Topic
Research instruments relating to the effectiveness of the online learning process are surveys, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments have proven valuable and reliable since they collect data that usually satisfies the research questions. Also, they help respondents attain the research goals, objectives, and research questions. A survey contains a sequence of questions asked to an audience to gather information or opinions about specific issues. A survey will help the researcher determine effective online learning for learners and teachers. On the flip side, interviews are conversations used to gather information. The discussion involves the interviewer, who controls the process and asks questions, and an interviewee responding to the questions. Interviews can be conducted face to face or through a telephone call. Interviewers must be precise, gentle, and knowledgeable while conducting interviews. Lastly, questionnaires contain multiple questions used to gather crucial information from the respondents.
Appropriate Research Instruments
The best research instrument to employ in my research topic is a survey. Surveys are effective methods to collect a large amount of information from respondents. I consider surveying an appropriate method due to its multiple advantages, such as speed and cost-effectiveness. For instance, online and mobile surveys incur a small cost per respondent. Generally, the cost per response in an online survey is relatively low compared to a paper survey, even when a provision of incentives is necessary. Also, the number of anticipated responses s high, making it practical for my research. Surveys are extensive since they describe the features of a considerable population (DeFranzo, 2017). They provide data from a broad capability compared to other instruments, which facilitates the provision of a more accurate sample to achieve the targeted results to draw conclusions and make crucial decisions. Researchers can also administer surveys in multiple modes such as online and emails.
Additionally, surveys are dependable due to their secrecy, enabling respondents to provide honest and valid answers. Acquisition of accurate data in research requires respondents to be open and honest with their responses. Surveys conducted with privacy provide a platform for honest and straightforward answers compared to other research instruments, mainly when the survey indicates that responses remain confidential.
