Reflecting on Our Growth Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Reflecting on Our Growth Most Valuable Concept Active listening is by far the most valuable concept I have learned about when it comes to having a growth mind-set. Though the notion of listening seems simple, the lecture stressed that real active listening is much more than just hearing words. Part of that is about seeking the speaker's perspective, acknowledging their feelings, and asking questions that help one to understand (Jewell, 2025). This exercise is important because it is the direct opposite of what we humans do, which is to formulate answers while another person is speaking.
