I am a currently an online student at Empire State College, but mainly, I am a proud mother of two little boys. In January 2017, I enrolled various courses such as Educational Studies mainly focused on Early Childhood Education because I want to be a licensed teacher who will be able to properly educate the youth in building a better future. Currently, I am a teacher assistant at Head Start as I believe that this institution will grant me the experience that I need to come closer to my goal. I completed my Associate degree in Business Administration last year ( 2016), but I felt that business management is not for me and so, I decided to pursue my career in the teaching field. When I completed my associate, I realized that I love to teach little kids and I decided to get my bachelor degree in education studies which are concentrated and inclined in early childhood education. My career goals are to get my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and my master’s degree to become a birth to 2 years teacher. As a mother, I have the experience and passion of handling little kids and I am always joyful whenever I feel that I am able to impart some knowledge to children, but being a mother is not only my training, but having formal education is indeed a very essential course of action. Empire state helped me a lot to achieve my goals as it gave me the formal experience of being in academic institution. The courses and subjects that I enrolled also granted me the proper intellectual tools that serve as brain exercises and also practical skills. I understand that undergraduate degree in educational studies at Empire State doesn’t lead to NYS certification but I still believe that formal education in the field that I want to be part of is essential in enhancing myself as a person and getting closer to my ultimate goal.
I have associate degree in Business administration, thus I transferred all the SUNY general education courses requirements I took at Hudson Valley Community College to empire state college and I also transferred some of the classes that are evaluated by world education services to empire state college too.
