Part A: Choose to put yourself in the role of a kindergarten, first grade, or second grade teacher. Select three (3) books of children’s literature that you have discovered and believe are high quality and age appropriate. Describe two (2) ways that each of these books might support a child’s personal and academic growth. List one (1) common core standard that each book could be used to support.

As a result, it prepares the child with a personal foundation for the love of his/her friends, family, and the need to avoid making enemies. Concerning academic growth, children will engage in friendships that will create a basis for group work that is essential in academics (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020). This theme is universal and timeless; hence, it will continue developing as the child grows.
Secondly, the book emphasizes kindness through the spider's action towards the pig (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020). Kindness is an outstanding quality to teach children since it will shape the future relationship of the child. The book is based on kind actions among the characters (Fern and Wilbur, the pig). Academically, the book shapes a child's character by teaching him/her to be generous towards fellow students, teachers, friends, and family members (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020).
The Boxcar Children
This book focuses on hard work, as portrayed by the four orphans (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020). Academically, a child learns the art of hard work when it comes to household chores and school work. This character assists the child in learning to help his/her parents. Secondly, the book highlights on love among the family (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020). Notably, the orphans had been brought up fearing their grandfather. However, he turns out to be loving and kind. Academically, the child learns the art of love for others and not to trust everything that they are told. The Secrets of Droon
Despite the book being a fantasy series, it has presented different themes to the reader (Commonsensemedia.org, 2020). It has focused on the theme of friendship. The three characters in the book form a friendship bond that does not change after discovering the fantasy world. Academically, friendship assists children in forming life-long bonds that turn out to be beneficial in the future.
