I have always had a great love for being educated. This love emanates from an understanding that education is a powerful tool. Education equips one with the tools needed to make a positive impact in society. I am a firm believer in the fact that an educated person is empowered. Education has the power to make a person better than they originally were.
Further, I believe that education expands the mind to the dimensions of a larger idea. Against this backdrop, I have a deep-seated interest in joining the University of North Texas to pursue a course in Physical Therapy. I believe that an opportunity to study here will equip me with the skills necessary to become a professional physical therapist and provide me with opportunities to better my leadership skills.
In modern society, leadership skills are important. These skills exemplify that the person holding them can be able to manage their time well and manage others. Therefore, leadership skills are crucial for any university student. To achieve great progress in education, it is important to employ the attitude of a leader. I have known this for a long time. Several engagements have helped me hone my leadership skills. The first engagement/experience is being a football/ track team captain. As the leader of my team, I led my team to numerous winnings. Whenever we lost, I led my team to discuss what probably went on and how to avoid the same next time. As the team leader, I encouraged different opinions from my members, and we implemented the ones that the team felt were best. Further, I ensured that we always worked together and that no person felt left out.
A leader must always lead by example. A leader shouldn't tell others to do something, yet they do the other. I also believe that a leader should strive to be the best at what they do.
