Both parents and children experience mental stress as a result of this seclusion at home. This essay seeks to investigate the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic on children's mental health, with a particular emphasis on the rise in mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The data suggests that there has been a rise in the prescription of antidepressants to youngsters despite research contradicting these assertions. This medication was prescribed amid the pandemic and was primarily used to treat social anxiety and isolation that occurred during the lockdown (Shachar-Lavie et al., 2023). These problems worsen due to school disruptions as children become more isolated and have fewer opportunities for social contact.
