They must be adaptable in handling and measuring behavior patterns and assessing learning outcomes in every student, especially those with special needs. The tools used in such assessments must be valid and reliable for proper accreditation and standardization tests conducted.
The reliability of an assessment instrument refers to the extent to which it produces consistent results. For instance, when assessing the personality of a learner, an instrument should produce comparable results each time for the same learner. It should also produce the same results when the same procedure is followed when replicating a study (Mcmonnies, 2018). Validity, on the other hand, is a term that describes whether an assessment tool measures what it is intended to measure.
