Joksimović et al. (2019) explore the growth of learning analytics from its beginning in 2011. One major takeaway from the reading is that learning analytics can significantly improve students' learning outcomes. Predictive analytics can help teachers provide actionable insights into students' performance, thereby prompting academic improvement. Another important takeaway is that while most educational institutions understand the value of learning analytics, its use is limited. Thus, there is a long way to go in implementing learning analytics in educational institutions.
