According to a recent Pew Research Center study, more than half of the companies in the U.S. conduct diversity and inclusion training for employees. About a third of the companies maintain a full-time staff member to concentrate on cultural responsiveness in the workplace (Minkin, 2023). In this assignment, assume the role of a consultant hired to improve an organization’s training in cultural responsiveness and sustainable development. You will create a 2 page proposal for delivering effective instruction on these critical topics. Step 1 Research how an organization teaches about the topics of cultural responsiveness and sustainability goals. This may be an organization where you work or a place you want to work. Step 2 Consider how to assess the current training as it relates to these topics. Drawing from the presentations and readings for this module and your research, determine appropriate criteria for evaluating the current instruction. Use these questions to guide your thinking: How well does the organization support learning about cultural responsiveness and sustainability goals? What criteria did you use in making the judgment? How could the organization improve instruction in these areas? Step 3 Select three strategies to strengthen the organization’s training or teaching about cultural responsiveness and sustainability goals. Identify why you think each strategy is important and ideas for implementing them. Step 4 Select or create a professional-looking template for your proposal. Compile your recommendations, including the following elements: an introduction providing an overview of the organization, its mission, and how you designed the proposal to support its goals; briefly summarize the three strategies you recommend for improving the organization’s training on cultural responsiveness and sustainability issues; explain why these are important for the organization’s culture and mission; provide concrete suggestions for implementing the recommendations; and a conclusion with a call to action for the organization’s leaders.
