And my personal experience is my Nephew was in Foster care and was adopted out to a great family. We are allowed to send him anonymously gifts for special days. My nephew was an addict and a burn victim from my sister. He is in better care now. But it allowed me to be a mentor in youth programs. You may describe your own personal background, or your siblings’ or parents’ experiences. You may describe your current or past employment experiences, your current or past volunteer activities, or the career goals you are now pursuing. Your employment (PG&E), volunteer (PG&E PowerPathway Program) or career goals descriptions should address any of your work in the foster care system focused on helping improve the lives of children and youth in it’s care. My personal experience with the foster care system was when I learned that my nephew was taken away from my sister and placed into the system. The latter had serious addiction problems and could not provide a stable home for him. Although it was heartbreaking to see my nephew taken away, I was grateful that he would be put in a better environment where his needs could be catered for. Since then, I have worked hard to make a difference in the lives of children and youth in the foster care system.
