Ensuring the availability of the necessary equipment.
The plan of encouraging patients to attend a checkup once every year will begin with a good planning to ensure that everything that the patients need in order to carry out the checkups is available. Among the checkups that will be done are tests, health history, and a physical examination (Eldredge, Markham, Ruiter, Kok & Parcel, 2016). Therefore, for the tests, the medical health center will need to buy the necessary equipment before the implementation of the plan to ensure that all the patients will be satisfied with the checkups. In a situation whereby patients are invited for a checkup, but the facility does not have all the necessary equipment that is required to carry out certain tests, then it will be a discouragement to the patient. Therefore, there are high chances that the same patient will never revisit the health care center.
Communication of the plan
The process of the communication will begin by informing the other physicians about the plan. It's a plan intended to bring revenue to the whole health center and therefore they will not object to it as long as the necessary equipment is in place. The communication will be done by holding meetings to discuss the best possible ways of informing the patients about the medical checkups.
Among the identified methods I the sending of aftercare emails thanking the patients for using the services of that health care facility. Included in the email, will be an outlined plan of the checkups offered by the health center and the date at which they will be available. In most cases, many patients are concerned about their health and, therefore, they stand a high chance of reading the email. The result of this mode of communication is that some of the patients can decide to attend the checkups and will thus reply the email booking an appointment on a specific day. Follow up reminder emails will be necessary to ensure that the patients do not forget about the appointment.
As well, the healthcare center can also distribute pamphlets to patients. The pamphlets will contain all the checkups offered, their importance and the dates which they will be offered. This is an effective mode of communication because the information will reach all the patients. They can also decide to share the information will friends and families, hence increasing the number of patients attending the checkups.
