It has been an amazing and powerful class that has taught me a new way of speaking and thinking. The course has not only enabled me like public speaking, but also has made me become more confident in speaking. Of all classes that I have attended, I think my Speech and Verbal Communication course is the most useful and interesting. Apart from improving my public speaking skills, I have also learned to listen and write effectively. The aspect I like most in this class is the personal attention every individual obtained because of its small size. The course has been a great confidence booster. It was a wonderful class, which enabled me grow as a great writer and as a vocal speaker, which was a something I did not expect. The class was full of fun. I learned more than simply speech communication; I learned many things about myself including the world.
It has been a small class that encouraged individualized attention. I learned the fundamentals of interpersonal communication, verbal communication, persuasive speech, informative speech, nonverbal communication, professional and business communications, public communications, small group communications, introduction to communication theory, debate and arguments, applications and methods of communication criticism, seminars in both public and interpersonal communication, communication and social influence, and modern and contemporary communication. I worked through these topics and as a result I have developed significant public speaking skills, nonverbal communication skills, critical thinking skills and writing skills.
