BACKGROUNDER
Overview
Camp Quality is an Australian non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Sydney, Australia. We aim to offer support for kids living with cancer together with their families. The organization provides children with cancer an opportunity to be kids once more. Our programs are specifically made to support kids aged up to 15 years, who have cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of their loved ones like mother, father, sibling or carer.
Our Vision
We aim at ensuring that children living with cancer and their families live a high-quality life. We are driven by the motto: laughter is the best medicine. Our aim is to inspire them to live positively, laugh and find joy. We support them through providing shared experiences and ongoing support. Camp Quality takes care of the kids’ wellbeing free of charge, which lessens the burden on the families. We are available at every stage of the treatment process to ensure that families have adequate support to deal with remission and grief. Through the Liaison Coordinators, we offer extensive support to families. The coordinators visit the children in hospitals and schools weekly.
Our volunteers
Despite the numerous employees we have at Camp Quality, we are an organization that received a lot of support from our volunteers. Without them, it would be impossible for the organization to offer the various recreational programs. In 2020 alone, we had more than 1,200 volunteers who were registered with us. The number keeps on increasing and by the end of 2021 we expect to have many more.
