Interpersonal Conflict Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Course Professor Date Interpersonal Conflict I recently had an interpersonal conflict with my coworker, John, which raised high tension at the workplace. John and I were working together on a project, but clashed due to divergent communication styles and how each of us approach the work differently. John, who likes directness, critiqued my methods, suggesting they were inefficient towards realizing the project's final goal. With such comments, I felt attacked and withdrew, avoiding the interaction. Such an incident resulted in heightened tension between us and hampered the progress of our project. The conflict underscores the significance of acknowledging and addressing differences in workplace interactions to support a sense of understanding and teamwork. I could say the relationship between us is very interdependent, where each of us is wants to work as as a team to realize the same gaol. This is similar to many modern organizations, where employees work interdependently and professionally. The chances of them succeeding are high compared to those who want to work separately to achieve the same goal. Workplaces show interdependence when team players in the organization work as a team toward a common goal (Frezza & White, 2024).
