Major disasters and emergencies that occur in the United States are either predictable or unpredictable-recent ones being the California wildfire and Hurricane Maria. In response to the accidents and emergencies, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) instituted the National US&R response practice to support search and response operations of the Federal Response Plan. US&R Response System mobilizes resources that they will use to respond to disasters and other incidences. The National US&R Response System coordinates, develops and maintains the Federal efforts by discovering, extricating, and administering immediate medication to disaster victims.
