Part 1
The organization of my choice is Walmart Inc. In particular, an organization refers to an organized group of individuals who come together to achieve common goals or objectives. Good examples are companies, associations, and institutions. The group of people in an organization is well-coordinated to ensure that the available resources are allocated properly to meet the defined goals or objectives. Walmart Inc. meets the definition of an organization since it’s a multinational retail corporation based in the United States of America. Notably, it operates department stores, grocery stores, and hypermarkets with headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas (Fortune 500, 2023). The primary objective of Walmart Inc. is to serve people by providing products and services that they need, including fruits, clothes, furniture, and electronics among multiple other categories. The corporation has about 2,300,000 employees.
The communication at Walmart Inc. differs from other types of communication that exist outside of organizations. Specifically, the two primary communication channels at Walmart are upward and downward communication. The former entails subordinates communicating with the upper levels of the organization, while the latter refers to the communication from seniors to subordinates. For example, supervisors and managers send directions to casual employees. The major communication method at Walmart is oral or face-to-face communication. Vertical and horizontal communication ensures that the information flow from the senior management to its targeted individuals. Walmart’s communication strategy has made the organization successful by building an identity, good image, and reputation globally.

The selected fictitious situation is a new policy being implemented for employees. In particular, Walmart Inc. has been successful for many years and continues to grow and enter new countries and territories due to the implementation of policies that guide the organization’s daily operations. The corporation has the vision of assisting individuals to lead better lives and renewing the planet by building resilient and thriving communities. Indeed, it emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion by bringing the communities together. In that light, when Walmart is coming up with a new policy for employees, it ensures that effective communication occurs with these stakeholders. The company values its employees and provides a conducive working environment so that they can deliver quality services and products to consumers. When employees are mentioned at Walmart, it includes all workers. For example, supervisors, managers, shelves attendants, suppliers, drivers, and other casual workers. These are the individuals that Walmart communicates with when it wants to implement new policies to smoothen its operations. The most preferred method of communication is face-to-face or direct communication. That way, the information or instructions are passed to the targeted audience without passing through numerous channels. Walmart Inc. utilizes an open-door communication policy, meaning that employees can reach out to their leaders and communicate with them when the need arises (Walmart Inc., 2023). For instance, it prohibits offensive posts or things that intentionally harm workers’ reputations or those that can create a hostile working environment, particularly based on sex, culture, religion, disability, or race. Walmart requires everyone employee to be treated fairly and equally. When a new policy is implemented, workers are well-informed and given time to ask questions. In other terms, they are involved in the policy implementation process to avoid high resistance.
In the scenario at hand, the primary objective for communicating with stakeholders is to inform th...
